2024 LEGISLATION

Rep. Meredith Dixon sponsored and passed into law the following legislation.

2024

HB 7: Sustains the funding for programs that small businesses and working New Mexicans rely on to make health care coverage affordable. This bill ensures affordable health insurance plans remain available for tens of thousands of New Mexicans.

HB 177: Appropriates $75 million to establish the NM Match Fund to support local governments by providing matching state funds for federal grants—something that will allow our state to receive at least $8 back for every $1 in match we provide!

HB 193: Updates the Law Enforcement Retention Fund for tenure-based retention bonuses for our local law enforcement officers.  Not only do these updates include a 5% annual bonus for those who serve more than 21 years, but also help recruit and retain law enforcement statewide.

HB 195: Updates the Opportunity Enterprise Fund Act and establishes the Housing Development Fund for housing development infrastructure. These updates allow for us to expand our toolbox for increasing housing supply for all New Mexicans!

HB 232: Would create the Infrastructure Planning and Development Division so that we can plan infrastructure projects more efficiently and leverage funds across entities.  Including but not limited to community development block grant programs, assistance to the concerns raised by rural New Mexican’s, like health and educational services, and roads and highways, just to name a few!
